Welcome

Welcome to the Monmouth Natural Health Centre. We are a group of individual therapists who all work together from the Bridges Centre in Monmouth. We aim to provide a wide choice of complementary or holistic natural therapies to assist you in the process of healing.

We believe that health is a condition of harmony between the many elements that constitute our being. When this balance is disturbed in any way, we become susceptible to illness and develop symptoms. Using techniques both ancient and modern, our practitioners strive to enhance the body’s natural vitality and capacity for self-healing.

Please explore this page to find the range of therapies that are on offer, from massage to counselling, hypnotherapy to herbalism. We invite you to get in touch and look forward to welcoming you.

Therapies

Our therapists are professionally trained, qualified and insured, and are members of their relevant professional bodies with appropriate codes of ethics. All are happy to work in a complementary way with your GP or specialist should this be required.

You are welcome to have an informal chat with any therapist before you make your choice of treatment. Please get in touch with each individual therapist using the links below.

  • Traditional acupuncture is a comprehensive medical system which is over two thousand years old. It is based on a model of good health and function where pain and illness are indications that the body is out of balance. Acupuncture treatment is focused on returning the body to equilibrium. Its great strength is that physical, emotional and mental health are seen as interdependent and a holistic approach to cause and treatment is taken.

  • Developed out of osteopathy, biodynamic craniosacral therapy is a subtle, yet powerful way of working that is non-invasive and non-directive. It uses a light touch (whilst you remain fully clothed) allowing your body to connect with its innate healing ability. In spite of it’s name it supports your whole body, including emotional and mental health. It is suitable for all ages, including babies.

  • Aimee Hartley offers two powerful breath session styles: Functional Breathing sessions focus on improving everyday breathing patterns to support physical health, mental clarity and sleep. Conscious Connected Breathing sessions use a rhythmic, continuous breath to explore emotional release, self-awareness, and deep relaxation. Both approaches are tailored to individual needs, creating a safe and supportive space to reconnect with the breath and enhance overall wellbeing.

  • Counselling and psychotherapy offer a confidential and supportive place to explore any issue that you may have. Talking in this way can help to understand and come to terms with what has been happening to us. For some people, brief focussed therapy of a few sessions is appropriate, to move through a crisis or transition. For others, inner changes are needed, requiring a deeper process of self–reflection.

  • Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais (1904-1984) was a distinguished physicist, engineer, and judo master who devised this method in response to his own knee injury.

The Feldenkrais Method offers a unique way in making lasting improvements to our lives through the medium of movement. We learn how to move through the world with greater ease, co-ordination, flexibility, and grace. It combines guided attention with gentle movement to heighten awareness of ourselves and our sensations. In this way we learn from the inside out, making use of our brain's plasticity - it's ability to
change for the better at any age.
The Method is taught in Awareness Through Movement classes and
    through individual Functional Integration sessions.

  • Chinese Herbal Medicine

Traditional Chinese herbal medicine uses a deep understanding of the elements in nature to treat the human body by harmonising and strengthening weak areas, increasing the body’s own vital energy or Qi and removing toxins or blockages which impair health and can create symptoms.

    Medical Herbalism

Western herbal medicine uses medicinal plants to heal, strengthen and detoxify the body. Herbal remedies are versatile and can be used in many forms: herb teas, pills, powders, tinctures or creams.

  • Homeopathy is a holistic approach to looking after your health using natural and non addictive remedies, making it suitable for all ages, including babies and young children. It is a highly individualised system of medicine that treats most conditions, physical and emotional, restoring health and building immunity and resilience.

  • Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can help people recover from anxiety and stress, burn outs, move on from depression, improve confidence and self-esteem and foster embodied resilience.

    Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy

Clinical Hypnotherapy uses techniques such as suggestion and regression to resolve deep-seated emotional issues, as well as physical ones that have an emotional basis. These issues are usually outside of our conscious memory, and it is important to understand their origin in order to heal them. Working together with the subconscious part of the mind brings about resolution and ultimately peace.

  • Reflexology uses reflex points which correspond to areas of the body. In this way, the feet/hands/face can be seen as a map of the body. By applying specialised massage techniques to specific reflex points reflexology treatment helps restore balance to the body naturally, and improve the client’s general well-being.

Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD) is a multi-award winning technique, which helps reduce lymphoedema after treatment for breast cancer. RLD is also useful for clients with other (non-cancer related) auto-immune inflammatory disorders.
